Notes & Tips section for your Teriyaki Chicken Fried Rice recipe:

  • Use cold rice. Day-old or leftover rice works best. It’s firmer and less sticky. This gives your fried rice the perfect texture.
  • Protein swaps: You can replace chicken with shrimp, beef, or even tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • Vegetable add-ins: Bell peppers, peas, broccoli, or corn make great additions and add color and nutrition.
  • I’m in love Homemade teriyaki sauce! If you don’t have bottled sauce, make your own. Use soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), garlic, and ginger.
  • High heat cooking: Stir-fry the chicken and vegetables on medium-high heat to get that slightly charred, smoky flavor. Storage & reheating: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of soy sauce or water to keep it moist. Make it spicy: Add a drizzle of sriracha, chili flakes, or Japanese chili oil for a fiery kick.
